Youth & Government (Y&G) is a state-wide conference of 3,300 high school students centered on teaching youth like me the fundamentals of civic engagement and activism.
Youth & Government is one-of-a-kind.
Y&G is an incredible way for youth like me to learn about California's state government and government as a whole. Last year, I participated in dozens of debates on legislation as an Assembly member in the real California state Assembly chambers in Sacramento. This November, I ran for Youth Governor and spoke in front of hundreds of people, the largest crowd I had ever spoken to.
Y&G connects thousands of high schoolers with the same interests. I met many of my closest friends at Y&G conferences.
Unfortunately, many high school students who are just as interested in public policy and government as I am dismiss Youth & Government because of how much it costs. That's not right.
Y&G delegates receive a total of over $200,000 in annual financial aid so they can attend Youth & Government conferences. I can't imagine not being able to attend Y&G, but that would be reality for an immense number of delegates if they didn't have financial aid.
Whether you're an individual, a family, a business or a community organization, I ask you to join me and donate whatever you're willing to in order to ensure that all delegates who rely on financial aid to attend Youth & Government can continue to have the experience of their lives.
100% of your tax-deductible donation goes directly to financial aid scholarships for delegates in need.
