This year the money you donate will go to both the statewide Youth and Government (CalY), as well as my local East Valley Youth and Government delegation.
Youth and Government isn't just any other afterschool club. Youth and Government isn't just another extracurricular. Youth and Goverment is a life-changing experience that allows the California Youth to learn skills necessary in order to become leaders. Youth and Government is a program that provides a safe haven, a home, for those struggling with life's problems, those who love politics, and those who just want to make new friends! By donating to this program, you are giving an opportunity for one more kid to get up and speak, one more kid to run for office, one more kid to change the world. There are 4,000 students in this program, statewide, and with your help, you can make sure everyone has an opportunity to participate.

My Youth and Government experience has changed my life. Last year as a freshman, I served on the Youth Governor's Cabinet. Not only did we get to work in the offices of Jerry Brown, but we were able to serve as representatives of the Youth Governor and the California State Youth as a whole. This experience gave me confidence to pursue the issues I found most passionate and gave me life long friends. Over this past summer, I attended the Conference On National Affairs where I was one of the 25 representatives California sent to North Carolina. The Conference On National Affairs (CONA) serves as a collection of represenatives from 34 Youth and Government programs from around the nation. Here, I was able to share my passion for the issue of homelessness and propose the creation of a National Homeless Department, focused on providing the most effective hosuing programs to states around the country. This year however served as my proudest year yet. At our first conference, I was elected as one of the Legislative Pro-Tems. I gave two speeches in front of over 1500 people and then was elected by the enormous conference of 4000 delegates who chose me to serve as their presiding officer.
